Hi Jeremy,
I wanted to give you a report on the Kohlert. After spending lots of quality time with it this weekend I must say it plays very nicely. At least as far as I can play it! :-) I really like the tone it has. Very warm and clear. Nice and woody. Intonation's not too bad to my ear. Really, I'm delighted with it. It's a nice clarinet without qualification and a lot of fun to play thanks to your expert service. I love seeing it on your website too! Thanks again!
                                                                   - M. Jack, Maryland

Jeremy,
Had a chance to play the saxophones and really like the way they play. You did a fine re-pad on them! thanks
                                         -J.Axman, Colorado

 Hello Jeremy,
I thank you for excellent service and an excellent instrument. I feel quite priveleged to own this and doff my cap to Monsieur Barbier's original craftsmanship and your restorative work. I think it a very good thing that you can salvage these wonderful works and wish your enterprise every success.
                                                              - Julian H., London, England

Hey Jeremy, You've out did yourself ... my Tenor and Alto are playing fantastic! The tone and response of both are outstanding ... it's comforting to have a woodwind Doctor right in my backyard.
                                                                            - Charlie Exley, Bedford VA

"Jeremy is defintely the person to ask to overhaul or adjust your clarinet.  He is meticulous, knowledgeable, incredibly well versed in woodwinds (and in multiple other subjects), takes pride in his work, charges a fair price, and delivers an instrument that you will take great delight in playing.  He has taken several average-playing vintage professional clarinets (and saxophones) of mine and made them superior performers.  I am not alone among his many satisfied clients. "

Dear Jeremy,
I received my Conn Clarinet yesterday being Friday the 20 th May 2011. All aspects of the delivery through USPS, then in UK onward through PARCELFORCE went perfectly. I want to tell you that I am so very happy and pleased with my purchase, and spent most of the afternoon playing the Instrument. Likewise, I find the mouthpiece you recommended suites me fine. I appreciate your help and advice and wholeheartly respect your obviouse expertise and skills. I shall be keeping a watch on your EBAY Shop and your Website and you could well find me making subsequent purchases in the future.
                                                                                    -Frederick H. London, England

I really liked the clarinet. Played for an hour with it. Tried different set ups. Its playing very nicely. You did a great job for sure. I feel very confident to say that not only because of the quality of the service itself but because I had recently bought a horn from another person here and the experience was very frustrating. This served as a comparison and to show how special your service really is. Your professionalism and attention to detail can be easily confirmed when I play the horn and see how smooth everything is. Not to mention your care with my shipping needs and your suggestions of different set ups. Thanks a lot for that.

"I have been playing saxophone for 38 years professionally and for personal enjoyment. I have had numerous horns and repairs performed. I recently aquired a The Martin 1960 tenor sax that had just received a full rebuild by Jeremy. He was very accurate in his description of the horn and great to work with on completing the transaction. When the horn arrived his work was detailed and high quality. Best of all, the 1960 Martin plays as good or better than my 1 year old Selmer reference 36 Tenor. The sax is regulated well for intonation and plays effortlessly. I would highly recommend Jeremy for a purchase or rebuild of a vintage woodwind. Jeremy is among the top tier of woodwind technician I have worked with. I would easily trust him to work on any of my modern or vintage saxes."

Jeremy was in the last 2 years the man in USA who repaired the top vintage clarinets I bought in not seldom very devasted condition. All these are now real diamonds of my collection! The beginning of our relationship was the purchase of a Penzel-Mueller and I bought also further of his instruments. I would say it was a good fate that I came on this excellent man. If you would read our correspondence you see that we had also what could be named an intercontinental music dialogue to the benefit of us both.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for doing such a great job on the clarinet.  It looks super and plays so smoothly.  I am real happy with it.
                                                                       Don H. Chicago, IL

Thanks Doc,
I never knew a used instrument could play so well. Allow me to congratulate you for the great overhaul on this instrument, it is one of the best that I've played so far. I found what I had been missing all these years...that which most of the newer horns don't give you; quality!
                                                                                          -Samuel Mendez, San Juan, PR.

Hi Jeremy, Just an update - the Dupre arrived yesterday afternoon OMG! It's really a decent horn! Huge sound without being overly bright. The throat tones are super clear. The beautiful thing is that the tone quality and clarity is even right up through the altissimo. The intonation is very good as well yet flexible. It's very responsive and playable. And it plays very freely without much back pressure. You did an EXCELLENT job on the overhaul!! Like I said on my ebay feedback - it's clear the work you do is a labor of love. Thanks so much! I'll be in touch!

    Dear Jeremy,
I received the Barbier this morning and used it for my daily practice. It does indeed have a dark, beautiful tone quality and I am very grateful for your advice concerning the relative merits of this
instrument and another model on your books. You have clearly done a very good job in renovating this old horn to its former glory and I am very proud to be its new owner.
Thank you again, Stafford D. (France)

Dear Fellow Musicians;

I've relied on The Vintage Clarinet Doctor to re-pad & repair several of my vintage saxophones and I can highly recommend him.  My first contact with him was to ask his help in repairing a 1926 Conn bass sax octave key mechanism that was damaged upon arrival from the seller.  This was a complex repair that the Doc fixed promptly, so that I could use this sax in a spring of 2008 musical, SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE.

Later on, he re-padded a 1926 Conn soprano sax with roo pads. He also re-padded a 1918 Buescher C-Melody Tenor of mine with conventional leather pads.  Both saxs play great! The Doc has located & repaired leaks on an 1948 Aristocrat tenor sax of mine, and now he is scheduling a re-pad of my 1946 Aristocrat Alto.  I know from my previous experience, that his skill will deliver a tight playing horn that will be "rattle-free".

The Doc doesn't back down from a challenge, enjoys helping people, and demonstrates great attention to detail; And his rates are reasonable!

You have become a trustful friend with a lot of good advice for taking care of the clarinet and get the best out of it. It has been a pleasure to buy clarinets from you. They are more new than if I bought them in a shop, so you are doing a fantastic great job restoring them and showing that age doesn´t matter. Thank you so VERY much!
                                                                                         -Lars Sandeberg (Sweden)

Hello Jeremy,

I received the clarinet today… it looks beautiful and I can actually play it a bit after 40 years… you must have done a good job! Thanks for your help and I’ll be sure to recommend your work to others.

                                                                                               - Elena Papavero, NJ

Jeremy:
I had the opportunity to put the Thibouville (bass clarinet) together, and I am literally in shock.  If you were a Sanford & Son t.v. show fan, back then, you would have seen me with the Thib together shouting, "It's the Big One, Elizabeth!"   Wowsers -- you indeed do awesome work!!!  I had hoped and assumed the horn would come back "good" -- but not this good.  It's unbelievably awesome!

                                                                                                     - George Kahn, Pottsdam NY

Jeremy,
I received the Holton today. I have been playing it for the past two hours. It is even better than I expected. I would be interested in any vintage saxes you might find in the future. The work you did on the sax was top-notch.
Thanks again.
                                                                                                                                                      -Jay Corder, TN

Jeremy,
Thanks for the great job you did on my Penzel-Meuller Soloist model. I first got it new circa 1956 and knew it was a quality instrument but needed a lot of work. You did a great job and it plays as well or better than other instruments (professional level) that I have tried. Thanks again.
